風の谷のナウシカ（youtubeアニメモ＠）
youtubeアニメモ＠管理人です。大好きなナウシカです。まずは作品の概要から。
極限まで科学技術が発展した人類の引き起こした「火の七日間」と呼ばれる最終戦争により高度産業文明が滅び、千年余りが経過した未来が舞台となる。古の産業物の遺跡を発掘し利用しつつも、人びとの生活様式は基本的に中世に近い水準となっている。世界では瘴気（有毒ガス）が充満する「腐海」と呼ばれる菌糸類の森が拡大しており、かつそこに棲む巨大で獰猛な蟲（むし）に、人びとは脅やかされながらも逞しく生きている。
主人公ナウシカは、腐海のほとりにある辺境の小国「風の谷」の族長の娘である。本作品では、腐海や蟲たちが存在する理由を見抜いていたナウシカが、過酷な運命に翻弄されながらさまざまな人びとと出会い、艱難辛苦を重ねて成長し、自分自身と世界の運命、太古より繰り返されて来た人の業とも呼べる営みに向き合い、彼女なりに折り合いをつけていこうとする姿が描かれていく。
漫画作品のアニメージュ誌上での連載は、中断期間を含め1982年から1994年まで実に13年に渡った。多忙を極めた宮崎駿が連載を維持するために、鉛筆で書かれたまま作品化されている回もある。
漫画の全7巻分のうち、映画版ナウシカに対応するのはその1巻目から2巻目の途中までに過ぎず、内容もかなり異なる。最大の違いは、大国トルメキアと対立する土鬼諸侯連合（ドルク）が映画には登場しない点である。大国同士の不毛な戦争に主人公たちやさまざまな立場の民族が巻き込まれ、人間が飽きることなく滅びの道を歩むストーリーが漫画の骨子であり、これの無い映画版は全くの別ものと見ることもできる。また映画版では主人公が救世主的キャラクターとして描かれるが、漫画版では救世主であることを否定する展開を見せ、物語の結末では前文明が残した「救世のシステム」を破壊するという驚くべき選択をおこなった。連載終了後、主人公ナウシカの最後の行動の是非を巡る議論がおこり[1]、今に至るも決着を見ていない。このように、物語後半で自然と科学技術という単純な二項対立の構図が変化するなど、物語のテーマが大きく変わっていった背景には、ソ連崩壊に伴う東西冷戦終結など実際の時代背景が大きく変化していった影響が大きいことを宮崎本人が当時のインタビューで明かしている。
自然と科学技術の対立、文明の破壊と再生はいくつかの宮崎駿作品に通底する主題であるが、本作品もそれを直接取り上げたものの一つである。本作品は、いわゆる環境問題を扱っていると見ることもできるが、自然や生き物を実は人間の都合の良いように「保護」しようとすることの傲慢さに対する批判を読み取ることもできる（アニメでは人智を越えた亜神のごとき存在として描かれる王蟲（オーム）さえもが、漫画版では実は人工生物であることを明かされるなどは、その一例である）。
ナウシカのモデルとして宮崎駿が言及しているのは、日本の古典文学である堤中納言物語に登場する「虫愛づる姫君」（この「虫愛づる姫君」は後の映画「もののけ姫」の題材ともなっている）であり、その名前は、ギリシア神話に登場する王女ナウシカアに由来する（オデュッセウスの項目を参照）[2]。また青衣の民のモデルはサハラ砂漠のトゥアレグ民である。
物語の舞台としては、「風の谷はパキスタンのフンザをモデルにしている」とか「オーストラリアのウルル（エアーズロック周辺）が舞台」という説もあるが、スタジオジブリのホームページや関連書籍などにその類の記述は一切なく、噂話・ネタ話の域を脱し得ない。実際には、宮崎の関心が高かった中央アジアや中東、独ソ戦などの要素をいろいろ混ぜ込んでいるのだろう。自身でコメントしたのは、『風の谷のナウシカ 宮崎駿水彩画集』で、ウクライナ・クリミア半島のシュワ―ジュが腐海のモデルだと言及しただけである。
ルネ・ラルーのアニメ映画『ファンタスティック・プラネット(LA PLANETE SAUVAGE)』(1973年)や、宮崎自身がファンだという漫画家・諸星大二郎の影響も指摘されるが、そのオリジナリティは高く評価され、漫画版は第23回日本漫画家協会賞の大賞を、アニメ版も各賞を受賞した。

どもどもyoutubuアニメモ＠管理人です！ナウシカ！最高ですねぇ。個人的にはナウシカとラピュタが宮崎アニメでは二大巨頭だと思っています。小さい頃ナウシカとラピュタばっかり何回も何回も繰り返し観ていました。今は無きベータのビデオで(^^;セリフもほぼ完璧に頭に入っていまして、おそらくあの当時なら音声ナシでも自分で全部言えただろうなってっほどのめり込みました。今考えるとちょっと怖いホドですが。
それほどまでにのめり込んだナウシカ。今でも大好きです。この頃の宮崎アニメがほんっと大好きですね！
